Area Maintenance

Job Introduction

The brief is simple. Help us to maintain an amazing portfolio of ski chalets and support the wider team in delivering an exceptional level of service to our guests.

As the Area Maintenance Support person, you will be the primary point of contact for the seasonal management teams regarding maintenance issues. You will need to respond in a timely manner to general and emergency maintenance ‘callouts’ with the intention to resolve issues on site and/or identify the root cause of issues. You will report to the Area Manager who will manage the overall team. You will proactively visit properties on a weekly basis in order to stay on top of maintenance issues, pre-empting them where possible, as well as provisioning a variety of support to the wider resort operations and Resort Assistants.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  AND TASKS

  • Complete weekly proactive property maintenance checks
  • Respond to general and emergency maintenance callouts
  • Assist in overseeing pool and spa facilities
  • Support the wider operation logistics e.g, deliveries, team movements, snow clearing, etc.
  • Be involved with ongoing vehicle fleet management
  • Complete minor maintenance tasks (tighten door handles, change light bulbs, unblock sinks, etc.)
  • Produce accurate weekly reports covering various aspects of property and time management

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

  • Full driving licence required; Must be confident driving a minibus in winter conditions
  • Previous winter season experience is highly desirable
  • General building/site experience or a training in a trade is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience with pool and spa maintenance is advantageous
  • Competent understanding of modern domestic AV systems
  • General maintenance experience e.g unblocking sinks, changing light bulbs, tightening door handles
  • Problem solving - ability to identify probable root cause of maintenance issues
  • Flexibility – able to cope well with varied and changing tasks and environments
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills - fluency in English is essential; French is highly advantageous 
  • Organised and well-presented with an excellent eye for detail in all aspects of chalet presentation
  • Availability for the whole season (November 2024 until end of April 2025)
  • We will conduct DBS checks as well as taking up two professional references
